“ Egg tart, red bean doughnut and coconut butterfly bun were all so delicious. The doughnut was pillowy and soft. Everything tasted really fresh and the women working there don’t speak much English, but are very sweet. As someone who loves Italian and French pastries, this did not disappoint. You can also see them bringing out and making fresh products right from the oven. Everything only cost $2 to $3 each. ”

“ Dec 30, 2025 - This bakery is a classic Hong Kong–style spot offering all the familiar Cantonese favourites—pineapple buns, BBQ pork buns, cocktail buns, and more. Just be aware that if you arrive later in the day, many of the popular items may already be sold out. Because the shop is located right beside a bus stop, the entrance can get crowded, especially when people take shelter from the rain or wind. On my visit, the cake selection was quite limited, so if you’re planning to buy a cake, it’s best to pre‑order in advance. Overall, the buns are good, but the prices have definitely been creeping up. $2.40 for a pineapple bun but it's still a better value than other bakeries in Richmond. Plenty of parking at Richmond Centre if you're driving here. This review is for the location beside Richmond Centre. ”
“ I have been to the original Kam Do bakery but I have not tried out this new Richmond location. Visually the bakery items are beyond tempting. Unclear whether taste matches the visual delights. Portion size is much larger the competition as well as the original location. Price is somewhat high but less so when you consider the larger size! Definitely worthwhile trying. However I have to watch my A1C, sugar, salt, fat etc. Unfortunately what tastes great is usually not healthy for you. This is such an injustice! Must I abstain or can I treat myself once in a while? Decisions, decisions, decisions . Such is life! I have attached visual clips for you viewing agony or delight depending on whether you are eating healthy , healthier or not at all. Know your limit, eat within it. Pray for resilience if you have to! ”
